Application

First Coat

  • Apply using a Meoded Lime Wash Brush in a cross-hatch or multi-directional pattern.
  • Maintain a wet edge throughout the application to prevent lap marks.
  • Allow at least 8 hours drying time.

Second Coat

  • Apply in the same manner as the first coat.
  • For a more consistent appearance, a third coat may be applied.

Curing

Lime Wash naturally hardens through carbonation. For increased mottling and a richer aged appearance, allow the final coat to dry for 8–12 hours, then lightly mist the surface with clean water or wipe gently with a damp sponge. Repeat as desired to enhance the finish.

Exterior Application

For exterior applications over porous surfaces such as brick, cement, stucco, etc., it is recommended to dilute the first coat of Lime Wash with 10% water.

Apply the first coat of Lime Wash with a Meoded Lime Wash brush. After the first coat is dry, lightly dampen the first coat with a sponge with clean water. Avoid leaking as it can stain the product. The surface should appear slightly darker and not wet before applying the second coat. Apply the second coat in the same manner as the first.
